• Services Overview - 9/1/2013

CHA Educational Tours offers international tour services to ensure a superior travel and educational experience. Student and teachers enjoy first-rate accommodations, regularly-scheduled air transportation on the major U.S. and international carriers,  24-7 support at home and abroad, and professional tour guides and tour directors. But most important, students and their caregivers have peace of mind from knowing their travel investment is safe and that they are dealing with a reputable company with a long track record of arranging student group travel abroad.

Services CHA Educational Tours offers:

• Air and Ground Transportation

They say getting there is half the fun, and with CHA, it’s true. International flights are booked only on regularly-scheduled carriers such as Delta, Lufthansa, United, Alitalia and Air France. Upon arrival in the destination city, CHA travelers will see the sights safely and comfortably from a deluxe motorcoach chauffeured by a skilled, friendly tour driver. To maximize the benefit of the stay, many CHA tours also include other convenient, time-saving transportation such as high-speed trains, modern ferries and intra-tour flights.

• Quality Hotel Accommodations and Meals

Quality hotels can make the difference between a good tour and a fantastic one. That’s why CHA has always insisted on high-quality hotels for its student travelers. It was the first company of its kind to provide accommodations in well-located Superior Tourist-Class (three-star) and First-Class (four-star) hotels with a private bathroom guaranteed in every room. And to ensure the right start for busy touring days, each morning begins with a continental breakfast or a buffet style, national breakfast. In the evening, sample continental cuisine as well as traditional favorites are served at the hotel or a nearby restaurant, allowing students to soak up the local flavor.

• Professional, Full-Time Tour Director

Once the plane touches down overseas, a professional, multi-lingual CHA tour director meets the party at the airport and accompanies the group throughout every leg of the journey, providing invaluable assistance and advice.  As constant companions, they will share their vast knowledge and assist with all the details of the trip. CHA’s friendly and experienced tour directors make traveling easy, fun and meaningful.

• Comprehensive Sightseeing with Expert Guides

Comprehensive sightseeing is built into every tour CHA operates. Led by expert local guides who share their in-depth knowledge and insights as only natives can, CHA’s sightseeing tours include an impressive number of entrances to historic sites, museums and other cultural attractions. From the ruins of ancient Pompeii to the masterpieces inside the Louvre, traveling with CHA means student tourists won’t miss a thing.

• Included Travel Security Coverage

In cases of political instability abroad and at home, CHA’s Travel Security Plan provides peace of mind. Included as part of CHA’s registration fee, this coverage provides a full refund (less the registration fee) in the event that an Official Travel Warning is issued by the U.S. State Department indicating Americans should not travel to a country included in the tour itinerary, if the student is scheduled to arrive within 60 days after a declared terrorist incident.

• Optional Travel Protection Plan Insurance

The feeling of security is vital when planning an overseas trip. CHA offers an excellent optional Travel Protection Plan for greater peace of mind in case of unforeseen circumstances. The package includes a variety of coverage including Trip Cancellation and Interruption, Travel and Baggage Delay, Medical Expenses, Terrorist Act, and Financial Insolvency. This plan also features Trip Cancellation Coverage for job loss or involuntary termination of employment.

• CHA Global Network

CHA’s world headquarters are in Philadelphia. However, as an international company, CHA also has staff around the world, as well as satellite offices in London, Paris, Rome, Madrid, Athens and Mexico City. These offices enable CHA to stay close to its tour groups while they travel, and allow more timely response should any problems or emergencies arise.

• On-Tour Assistance

Once a CHA tour begins, travelers receive the full-time service of their professional, multi-lingual tour director. CHA tour directors meet our groups upon arrival overseas and remain with them until they board their return flights back to the United States. Along with the teacher-counselor, tour directors stress personal safety, caution and common sense at all times while traveling and are there to assist in handling emergencies should they arise.

• Complete Financial Security for Travelers

All payments received from travelers are secured in a special escrow account.  These funds are only used to pay for tour services or to issue any necessary refunds. Additionally, CHA maintains the largest amount of bond coverage as required by the Airline Reporting Corporation (ARC) in Washington.  CHA is authorized to issue airline tickets for its travelers on all U.S. and international airlines. Plus, CHA's extensive Liability Coverage protects teachers, schools and school boards with up to $10 million dollars of comprehensive coverage.

• Technology

With 120 pre-designed itineraries to choose from, teachers find it easy to select a CHA tour which suits their school curriculum as well as the interests of their group on CHA's website at But if they still can’t find the perfect tour, they can modify an existing tour by changing tour length or adding features, attractions and intra-tour transportation. Teachers can work closely with a member of CHA's staff to create a custom tour with a specific theme, such as literature, art, music, theater, history or religious celebrations.

Once the teacher selects or designs a tour, he or she can enroll online and invite students, teaching colleagues, parents, relatives and other members of the school or local community to join the tour quickly and easily using CHA's convenient Enroll Online feature.

Once the group has enrolled, CHA group leaders have access to CHA’s Online Tour Account Center. This tool makes planning a CHA tour easier, offering tour information 24 hours a day. Group leaders can also track their group’s enrollments and payments, and look up important details about the tour, such as flight and hotel information.  They can also grant access to the Tour Account Center to individual travelers so that students and parents can keep track of the tour arrangements as well as check their balances and make convenient and secure tour payments online.
