Special Notice about the Coronavirus

Important COVID-19 Update as of September 2022

Throughout our 53-year history in educational travel, CHA has been committed to the safety and welfare of our travelers. The unanticipated outbreak of the Coronavirus in 2020 combined with restrictions placed on Americans traveling overseas prevented CHA from operating our scheduled tours for the remainder of 2020 and into 2021. In response to this unprecedented situation, CHA provided those groups affected with several options including rescheduling tours as well as issuing travel credits for future use and refunds.

We are happy to report that we have resumed the normal operation of our tours as the majority of countries visited on CHA tours have reduced or eliminated their COVID-related restrictions. Despite this, we understand that teachers and students may still be concerned about participating in future tours due to the uncertainty surrounding international travel and travel restrictions which are subject to change at any time. For this reason, CHA is pleased to provide our Book with Confidence Plan to all travelers.

CHA's Book with Confidence Plan includes:

1 - Risk-Free Enrollment Period

Travelers who sign up early for a 2024 tour may cancel for any reason by August 1, 2023 and receive a full refund of all tour fees paid including the $95 Registration Fee which is normally non-refundable. (The deadline for 2023 travelers was August 1, 2022.)

2 - Enhanced Flexibility Options

CHA provides group leaders with the flexibility to change their group's travel plans up to 60 days before their trip. Group leaders may opt to: reschedule their tour to a later date, change their tour and/or travel destination, or cancel their tour with travelers receiving either a full travel credit (valid for use towards a future tour up to two years from your original departure date) or a refund of all tour fees paid (less CHA's $95 non-refundable Registration Fee and a reduced cancellation fee).

3 - Travel Security Coverage

CHA's Travel Security Coverage provides security and peace of mind in cases of terrorism, political instability or serious health crises overseas including COVID-19. Starting approximately 60 days before your scheduled departure, if CHA determines that we cannot operate your tour due to an Official U.S. State Department Travel Advisory prohibiting Americans from traveling to any country included on your tour and/or due to travel restrictions imposed by governments of any country included on your tour as a result of political instability, a major terrorist incident, or serious public health crisis, group leaders will have several options: to reschedule their tour to a later date, to change their tour and/or travel destination, or to cancel their tour with travelers receiving either a full travel credit (valid for use towards a future tour up to two years from your original departure date) or a refund of all tour fees paid (less CHA's $95 non-refundable Registration Fee and a reduced cancellation fee).

Group leaders interested in learning more about CHA's Book with Confidence Plan should contact CHA at 1-800-323-4466 for complete details.

COVID-Related Travel Requirements

At CHA, we are committed to providing the safest and most rewarding tours possible for our groups. Therefore, all CHA travelers will be required to follow the most current COVID-related travel requirements based on both U.S. regulations and those of the countries you will visit on your tour. These requirements may include documented proof of a negative COVID-19 test and/or proof of COVID-19 vaccinations. In addition, facial masks, hand sanitizer and social distancing may be required or recommended while traveling on a CHA tour, especially while in airports, on board airplanes, on buses and other forms of transportation on the tour as well as when visiting museums and other attractions.

As COVID-related travel requirements are subject to change, CHA will provide more specific information on the requirements that apply to your tour before you are scheduled to travel, and your CHA Tour Director will reinforce these requirements when you arrive overseas.
